“History sometimes… survives in the whispers of old men, in the folds of faded letters and in the silence of those who left without an address. My works are an attempt to give voice to those whose fates were erased in the darkness of the last century.”

The author was born in 2000 in a small Tatar village on the border of two republics. He grew up where the steppe remembers more than any written record. After finishing a rural school, he left to study — and never went back.

A writer, researcher and traveller. His academic interest lies in the languages, culture and history of the Turkic world, as well as world literature. All that which tends to get forgotten or renamed.

“The steppe remembers more than any written record.” — Idel Batyr.
